Young Irish artists of all backgrounds and abilities aged 15 and under are in with a chance to win a trip to Japan through the power of imagination
Toyota Ireland is kicking off its annual ‘Toyota Dream Car Art Contest,’ which invites children of all abilities from across Ireland to showcase their imagination, artistic skills and envision the car of their dreams. The competition, which runs from 8th December 2022 to 6th March 2023, is a fun way for children to imagine the future of mobility and bring to life their wild, whacky, and wonderful ideas through the medium of art.
Commenting on the announcement, Zoe Bradley, Head of Marketing Communications and Corporate Affairs at Toyota Ireland said, “Imagination is the beginning of creation, and Toyota believes that our Dream Car Art Contest helps nurture the imaginations of the next generation of innovators, creators, and dreamers.
“Every year we are left in awe at the level of artistic talent and endless imagination evident in the entries we receive, and we are really looking forward to seeing this year’s marvellous car inventions and creative entries from children of all abilities around Ireland.
“I’d like to thank all the parents and teachers who nurture creativity and talent in their children and students, and most importantly, thank all the students who get involved in this inspiring programme to give us a glimpse of how they see the future of motoring.”
The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest consists of the National Contest and the World Contest. The ‘National Contest,’ will be held from 8th December 2022 to 6th March 2023. Winners of this contest will be entered as representatives of their own country into the ‘World Contest,’ to be held in Japan. The national competition will see nine Irish finalists awarded a range of prizes at the official awards ceremony in Dublin in April 2023, and the winning entries will then go on to compete against international finalists for a chance to win a once in a lifetime trip to Japan.
Inclusivity is a big part of Toyota’s Built for a Better World brand purpose, within which the company is committed to helping to make lives better for all Irish people. In line with this philosophy the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest encourages children of all backgrounds and abilities, including those with special needs, to participate in this year’s showcase. While all entrants can’t win the top three spots in each age category, the competition recognises the efforts of those who might struggle more than others via the Honourable Mentions section of the contest.
