SsangYong introduces latest Tivoli SUV

As necessary nowadays, new car launches are conducted through the internet and in the case of the latest Tivoli model from SsangYong, the You Tube channel was the stage setting. SsangYong’s new B-segment SUV features a refreshed exterior design and brand-new higher quality interior. Tivoli offers European styling, value for money and fuel efficiency. Thanks to its sharper styling and appealing competitiveness, the Tivoli model, first introduced in 2015, has become the No.1 brand in the compact SUV market in Korea, immediately achieving sales in its home market of over 3,000 cars a month. Since Tivoli has been praised universally for meeting a wide range of customer requirements, about 36,000 cars were sold in Europe from its launch to last year.

Through this facelift programme, Tivoli is powered up with 1.5 GDi Turbo engine, which is SsangYong’s very first petrol turbo engine, along with 1.6 diesel engine. In addition, new Tivoli is equipped with new 1.2 GDi Turbo engine which demonstrates the auto company’s efforts to quickly adapt to market changes.

Drawing on SsangYong’s considerable knowledge of petrol engines, the new 1.2 litre GDi-Turbo engine is aimed at delivering a powerful yet eco-friendly, quiet and refined driving experience, and can be combined with a 6-speed manual transmission. There is the further option of 2-wheel and with its Stop & Go technology, a two-wheel drive Tivoli with manual transmission delivers a CO2 emission level of just 130g/km (MPAS). SsangYong’s 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine boasts a robust performance of a maximum output of 163PS with automatic transmission. The 1.6-litre diesel engine also achieved a wide range of performance improvements. It boasts maximum output of 136 PS.  The AISIN AW GEN III (3rd generation) six-speed automatic transmission, which has been certified by various models of global makers such as Volvo, Peugeot, and Mini, is adapted. The synergy between the engine and power transmission performance and durability is at best, resulting in a fast and smooth shift. Tivoli offers three driving modes optimized for various driving environments. Normal: in a normal environment where efficiency and quietness are required  Sports: optimal for sport drive with more output Winter: for a safe start on a slippery road in winter.

Tivoli’s infotainment system is designed to maximize the enjoyment and convenience of travel and is the best in its class in every respect. Its digital interface, The Blaze Cockpit features a combination of 10.25-inch full digital clusters and a 9-inch AVN, replacing the existing analog cluster was applied for the first time in its class. It enables viewing and controlling various contents including driving warnings, driving information, media play with high-resolution graphics. With 9-inch HD screen, enjoy all type of contents by connecting AVN pictures in high quality. Apple Car Play and Android Auto mirroring services are also available.

This car takes its name from Tivoli, the Italian town near Rome with a reputation for style. Noted for its cultural heritage and beautiful scenery, the gardens at Villa d’Este have inspired others to use the name, including the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.
