Motoring Journalists test contenders ahead of vote
The roads around Mondello Park in County Kildare have been witness to the latest and finest motoring products this week, as Ireland’s motoring journalists undertake final tests of the contenders for the prestigious Continental Irish Car of the Year and Irish Van of the Year 2022 awards.
Thirty four cars are competing for seven category awards from which an overall winner of Continental Irish Car of the Year 2022 will be selected, while six panel vans have been shortlisted for the overall Continental Irish Van of the Year 2022 award.
With the winners to be announced early next month, the motoring journalists, who provide expert commentary and analysis in leading publications across print, television and online, have been making final comparison tests before casting their votes to select the best vehicles in each class. Fleet Car magazine is represented by Jarlath Sweeney and Cathal Doyle, while Paul White joins them in assessing the van contenders.
