From December 27th 2009 to January 10th 2010, those who will have chosen this route across Africa, characterised by simplicity, conviviality and authenticity, will not regret the journey.  A multi-faceted race, over a new route, drawn up by the Sporting Director, René Metge, in collaboration with José Maria Servia.  Starting in Europe, and finishing in the Capital City of Senegal, via Morocco and Mauritania, the equation is simple for a journey through the most fascinating desert of them all, the Sahara. Are you ready for the Marathon ?

The AFRICA RACE is not exactly a race like any other.  This marathon rally raid will allow you to share an adventure based around a sporting challenge but which places the priority on human values.

The Sporting Director, René METGE, is already working on the route in order to propose, once again, a high-quality route for the AFRICA RACE 2010.

«The major lines have already been set down; we just have to look more precisely at the different stages.  José Maria SERVIA and I are in total agreement on the quality and the spirit we want to give to these stages, for your greater pleasure. The first edition of the AFRICA RACE captured the imagination due to stages that were almost brand-new.  For the 2010 edition, our aim remains the same : to give you new landscapes to admire and new challenges to overcome.  Navigation will regain its rightful place and its importance, in order to highlight the aptitudes of all concerned. Excitement guaranteed, most especially in Mauritania, where you will be totally immersed in a desert landscape.  It will not be easy, but those who decide to trust us will not regret it…»

When you know René Metge, you know that this sort of promise is rarely given without good reason…

The route will be very ‘challenging’, and should convince many of those who love Africa to take part.  So, from June 1st 2009, you will be able to sign up for the 2010 edition, which already looks like being a fine adventure!

Dates, fees, entry forms etc will be available on the website from that date :  www.africarace.com
