Adrenaline seeking ladies across the country will soon have the chance to experience engine-revving, heart pumping motorsports activities at Superdrive Motorsports Centre to raise money for charity.

Five Celebrity Team Captains will lead 50 ladies to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and Cool FM’s Cash for Kids on Saturday 14th August 2010 at the Portadown based motorsports centre.

The Superdrive Ladies Charity Challenge will see television presenter Pamela Ballantine , Sunday Life’s Siobhan McGarry, Cool FM’s Sonya Mac, Comedienne and Actress Nuala McKeever and Unislim Ambassador Nicola Bleakley, each to captain a team of 10 lady competitors (from the general public) in a challenging day of rally driving, karting, mini-digger driving, 4×4 off road and a marathon obstacle course.

Four of the Ladies Charity Challenge Team Captains; Pamela, Siobhan, Sonya and Nuala will be on-location to launch the event this week with some rally driving practice and tuition with professional rally instructors at Superdrive in Portadown on Friday 18th June at 12.30pm.

The last Superdrive Ladies Charity Challenge in 2004 raised more than £14 000 for the selected charities. This year’s beneficiaries of the Challenge are Marie Curie Cancer Care who provides free care for local people who are terminally ill with cancer and other life limiting illnesses and provide support for their families, and also Sonya Mac’s New York Marathon Appeal for Cool FM’s Cash for Kids that provides funding and support for disadvantaged children in Northern Ireland.

Superdrive MD, Brendan Crealey said,

“Anyone can take part in the Ladies Charity Challenge. As long as you’re female, hold a provisional licence and are up for a bit of fun, then we promise you’ll have a fantastic day!”

Each competitor will be asked to raise a minimum of £350 in sponsorship to take part – all monies raised will be split between Marie Curie Cancer Care and Sonya Mac’s New York Marathon Appeal for Cool FM’s Cash for Kids charity.

There are lots of fantastic prizes to be won on the day including a on-location family photo shoot and album from Paula O’Hara Photography, a Rally Driving Break for two at the Seagoe Hotel, a home teeth whitening kit from Belmore Dental Studio and Implant Clinic and more exciting prizes being added every day. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall winners will also receive fantastic trophies donated by Nigel O’Hara Diamond Jeweller. Special prizes will also be awarded to the top three ladies raising the most money for the charities.
