FORD LANDS SUPPORTING ROLE AT WEXFORD OPERA
Cork, 15 October 2009 – Ford is the official vehicle supplier to this year’s Wexford Festival Opera. The Festival opens on Wed 21st Oct and over the 12 days of the festival, a fleet of Galaxy and Mondeo models will shuttle international stars of opera and illustrious guests to and from performances in comfort and style. The cars are provided in conjunction with Bolands of Wexford.

The 58th Wexford Festival Opera continues its reputation as a unique and rare experience. Combining spectacular operas with dynamic artistic teams, both new and known to Wexford audiences, this year’s Festival will run from Wednesday, October 21st – Sunday, November 1st. Highlights include: ‘The Ghosts of Versailles by Oscar-winning composer John Corigliano; a comedy double bill of ‘Une éducation manquée’ by Emmanuel Chabrier and ‘La cambiale di matrimonio’ by Gioachino Rossini and Gaetano Donizetti’s melodrama, ‘Maria Padilla’ a tale of family honour and tragedy.
The opening ceremony on 21 October will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display fired over Wexford harbour to music. An audience in excess of 20,000 is anticipated.
