Ford Ireland has launched a new, invitation-only network called ‘Ka Friends’ which sees some of Ireland’s hottest up-and-coming professionals and personalities borrowing a unique version of the new Ford Ka for an extended test drive of several months.

The first group of ‘Ka Friends’, who picked up their new wheels at a special lunch in Dublin, includes:

•    Anna Daly, TV3 reporter and weather girl     •  Nadia Forde, fashion model
•    Lili Forberg, fashion photographer        •  Manuela Spinelli, Italian interpreter

“Ka Friends is really about getting the latest version of this iconic small car out on the streets of Dublin,” said Eddie Murphy, Chairman and Managing Director of Ford Ireland. “The essence of Ka is fun and stylish motoring in a sporty and compact package.  I am sure that these unique Ka models will be the perfect fit for the busy lifestyles of our four friends.”

Each Ka Friend will be driving a Ka model with a menu of extra options such as air conditioning, electric windows and / or parking sensors – options more usually associated with larger cars.  In addition, each Ka has distinctive unique markings that will make the cars stand out from the crowd on the roads of Ireland.

Speaking at the launch of the Ka Friends project, fashion model Nadia Forde, said: “I am delighted to have this opportunity.  I really love the new Ka, it is the ideal car for around the city, with just the right amount of space for all my gear as I run between photo shoots; and of course a Ford is the perfect car for me personally – even allowing for the extra e!”

Interpreter Manuela Spinelli, who works with Irish soccer manager Giovanni Trapattoni, said: “The Ford Ka has caught my eye for a number of years now – I actually drive the original model and I love its stylish individuality.  It is great to have this chance to experience the new model and I am happy to say it is still as practical and economical as my older model.”
