Get ready for Action
One of the best loved features of Race Retro is the Live Rally Stage and in 2010, we moving it up a gear with a new course in a new location. Much closer to the halls so you don’t have far to walk, a new Live Rally Stage has been designed to challenge our drivers and test their experience and nerves.
With a dramatic double left turn directly in front of a raised spectator viewing area, you can expect the fast boys to make this one long power slide. Plus for 2010, you can get up close to the cars and drivers in the paddock area between runs.
A selection of genuine ex works Audi quattros from the original long wheelbase A2 coupe that shook the rallying world on its debut in 1970, to the outrageous short wheelbase S1 Evo 2, Audi’s final statement of the Group B era will all be in action as well as Ford RS200, Lancias, Peugeots, Porsches and of course the Rothmans Escort.
Get ready to meet the stars
There will be no shortage of motorsport legends appearing including Formula 1 racing driver Bruno Giacomelli, the ‘shy and retiring’ Barry ‘Whizzo’ Williams, Rally god Russell Brookes, Grand Prix motorcycle road racer Peter Williams, and eight times World motorcycling champion Phil Read MBE.
Also joining us will be motorcycle legends John ‘Mooneyes’ Cooper, Trevor Nation, Keith Heckles, and our Talk Theatre host Steve Parrish, with more drivers and riders to be announced soon here.
