The Racing Box Lola B09/80 LMP’s celebrated a 1-2 victory at Vallelunga near Rome recently. Thomas Biagi, Filippo Francioni and Edoardo Piscopo headed home the sister Lola LMP2 of Ferdinando Geri, Giacomo Piccini and Andrea Piccini in the traditional season closing endurance race.

The blue and white Lola’s dominated proceedings throughout the two day meeting with Biagi setting the pole position time in the Judd powered Lola sports car.

Biagi’s team mate Francioni started the race in damp conditions and built a huge lead before handing over to former A1 GP driver Piscopo. The LMP debutante drove a faultless stint before handing over to Biagi, who capped a successful season for the Italian team and rounded out a year that had begun with a win at the Barcelona 1000kms in April.
