2009 marks 25 years for Mitsubishi Motors in Ireland. Since its introduction in November 1984 the company has gone on to sell more than 100,000 vehicles and introduced iconic models such as the Lancer, Pajero and Colt to Irish motorists.
Synonymous with its success in the World Rally Championship and the Dakar Rally, which it won a record twelve times, Mitsubishi is also the first mainstream manufacturer to launch an electric vehicle in the form of the iMIEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle), which will go on sale in Ireland in April 2010.
Commenting on the occasion, Frank A. Keane, Chairman of Mitsubishi Motors Ireland said: “25 years in business is a landmark and one we are very proud to have achieved. We are operating in an extremely tough economic environment yet the strong reputation for reliability and value for money that our vehicles enjoy will help ensure we continue to supply and service Mitsubishi’s for Irish motorists for many years to come.”
Mitsubishi Motors Ireland is the exclusive importer and distributor of Mitsubishi cars and 4×4’s in Ireland and is part of Frank Keane Holdings, a wholly owned Irish company which employs over 100 people. Mitsubishi has a network of thirty-three Dealers in twenty-one Counties throughout Ireland
